Good morning everyone!
I wanted to make a quick post reminding you that this is our last full week of distance learning. The last day is Wednesday June 17th. Please get any work to me or to the school by Friday June 12th. I am so proud of you for how you handled all this change. I know this was difficult and not at all the way we anticipated ending 6th grade. With that being said, you all worked so hard and gave distance learning your best effort. I am thrilled with all of you! Please reach out if you have any questions regarding the end of the year.
Since Lifesize was not working last Friday, Mrs. Musso and I have created a new link. Please use this updated link for ALL of our upcoming Lifesize meetings. Thanks!
Happy Monday! Today is the start of a new week! My goal for you this week is to complete your Raz Kids placement test, watch my “Weekly Review Lesson”, and start the Journeys lesson. Here is some information for the upcoming week (5/11-5/15).
Mrs. Musso and I will be holding Lifesize meetings EVERY Wednesday and Friday from 12:30-1:00 pm. Please use the link below to join and we hope to see you there! https://call.lifesizecloud.com/2929569
I will be putting together another powerpoint for the next Journeys lesson and will create another video. The resources for the lesson as well as the video and powerpoint will be on my webpage. Keep checking my webpage, it has everything you need!!
My goal is to create a “Weekly Review Lesson” each week. This lesson will be a review of a concept that we have learned and practiced throughout this year. There will be a video as well as a short assignment for you to freshen up on the skill. This week, I will be reviewing “authors purpose”.
Keep working hard, I KNOW you can do this!!
Mrs. Musso and Miss Mulhern will be having a Lifesize meeting this Wednesday! Everyone from homeroom 202 and 206 are welcome to join. Lifesize is an app that allows us to video chat with all of you during distance learning.
To access this online meeting, you must download the Lifesize link on a computer, smartphone, iPad, or any other smart device. Once you download the app, you can click on the link below and put in your first name to join the meeting.
We will be hosting this Life-size on Wednesday 5/6/2020 from 12:30-1:00pm. If you have any questions about how to join, please do not hesitate to ask! We hope to see you all there!
Since you have completed “The Lightning Thief”, BPS is now going back to Journeys lessons. Unit 3 Lesson 11 is set to start on Monday 5/4. If you are not there yet or have yet to finish “The Lightning Thief” please do not worry. Keep working on the book until you are finished and then move on to the Journeys lessons.
I have created a Powerpoint and Video explaining everything you will need to know about transitioning to Journeys and what you need for Unit 3 Lesson 11.
You can find this video on my webpage. Please go to my webpage “Mulhern-Grade 6”, click “ELA Resources” on the left hand side, and scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will see a heading that says “Journeys Lesson 11”. The video and all the resources you need for this lesson are there. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Check out the new information about Raz Kids on my webpage. Simply go on to my webpage (Mulhern-Grade 6), click on “My Links” on the lefthand side and scroll all the way down to the bottom. Let me know if you have any questions! I would love for you to be using this app!
Happy Monday students and families! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. You can now view these messages on both the blog, and schoology. Content will be posted on my webpage, the blog, and schoology. Please do not feel as though you need to look at all three of these platforms. They all have the same information, I am just trying to reach as many students and families as possible! If you are using the webpage, please stick with that!
Once “The Lightning Thief” is completed, BPS is moving back into working with the Journeys book. Don’t panic, I will walk you through this since it is a change. My plan is to create a powerpoint presentation that walks you through the Journeys book and what I would like you to complete for each lesson. This Powerpoint will be posted on all three platforms as promised (blog, webpage (Mulhern), and schoology).
My goal for you all is to finish “The Lightning Thief” by THIS FRIDAY (May 1st). This is just a goal, please do not stress if you can not complete this in time.
As always, please reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns. I am happy to help you in any way I can!
Today, April 22nd, is Earth day! I wanted to give you some resources to help celebrate. Get outside for a walk, to play basketball, or just to enjoy the fresh air. During this time of staying inside and social distancing from people, you can still get outside. Just make sure you keep your distance for others. The fresh air is SO good for you!
I also have some activities that you may want to complete involving Earth Day. These are my favorites. Try to complete the “cause and effect” worksheet.
CAUSE is the thing that is responsible for the action… Miss Mulhern jumped off her desk.
EFFECT is the result of the cause…Miss Mulhern twisted her ankle and had to go to the nurse.
What caused Miss Mulhern to twist her ankle? Her jumping off the desk!
Enjoy your day! -Miss Mulhern
As we are starting week 6 of at home/online learning, I wanted to check in with all of you. Comment and let both myself and your classmates know how are you are doing. Is there anything more that I can do for you?
Remember when we started talking about the Black Death in social studies? Well, here is a video and article that compares this pandemic with the coronavirus pandemic. Watch this video and read the article to get more information about the Black Death/bubonic plague. I think you may find it interesting! Black Death Video
Once again, I am so proud of all of you for your hard work and patience during this time. Please reach out to me with any questions as you have been! I miss you!
Here is a tip that was shared with me for math problems. There’s an app called “PhotoMath”. It allows you to scan the math problem and then it not only gives you the answer but also breaks dwon how to do it step-by-step. It can be a life saver.
